Joey Vlasto
New York Chapter Young Leader, and the Chair of CoreNet Global Young Leaders Committee
Tell us a little about your current role.
I’m currently working as a Partner on the International Desk at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank managing projects worldwide. I work on projects for clients all around the globe and provide international market expertise to our transaction teams. Most of my projects relate to strategic initiatives that clients are driving and range from individual transactions to entire portfolios.
Why were you interesting in being Chair of the CoreNet Global Young Leaders Committee?
CoreNet has been and is a fantastic organization for professional development, learning, networking and sharing best practices. The YL group is the fastest growing demographic within the organization and I wanted to as involved as possible in this energetic and engaged group.
What is one project or challenge you’re particularly excited about?
I really can’t pick just one project to highlight – all of them are exciting for me. I love managing the constantly changing nature of client requirements around the globe in diverse markets. I will say that the most interesting market right now is probably London, due to scale and pace of new property and infrastructure development that is changing the traditional face of the city. Further afield, Myanmar is jut opening up and will present some very interesting opportunities.
What keeps you up at night?
Phone calls from around the world. Our global business is constant and I have learned how to function really well with not much sleep and lots of coffee.
What three words embody your personal brand?
Reliable, Consistent, Responsive
What is the one App you can’t live without?
Seatguru. I travel frequently, so improving the experience is a lifesaver for me!
How do you spend time outside of the office?
I try to relax in my downtime. I prioritize spending time with my family, and I love being on the golf course or watching movies. I also love to travel, and recently took a trip to Germany for the first time which I would highly recommend.
